Norwell slides past Lady Vike swimgirls

Senior Emma Helmich and freshman Laney Shaw each picked up an individual win and swam a leg on a winning relay team but the Huntington North High School girls' swim team fell to visitiing Norwell, 94-76.

Helmich actually tied for her win, doing so with Alyssa Cyrus in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:03.71, while Shaw claimed the 50-yard freestyle outright, in :28.95.

The pair teamed with freshman Allie Aschliman and sophomore Macy Lange to win the 200-yard freestyle relay, in 1:55.16.

Helmich added to her night with a second in the 200-yard freestyle, in 2:13.94, and Shaw added a third in the 500-yard freestyle, in 6:30 .47.

Aschliman picked upa a pair of second place finishes, doing so in the 200-yard individual medley, in 2:30.33, and the 100-yard freestyle, in 1:03.43.

Lange added second place points in the 100-yard breaststroke, in 1:23.22, and Alayna Stroup was runner-up in the 100-yard backstroke, in 1:14.91.

Gabby Line was third behind Lange in the breaststroke, in 1:23.77, while Alyssa Brinkman finished right behind Stroup in the backstroke, in 1:15.18.

Stroup added third in the 200 IM and Brinkman was bronze in the fly, in 1:21.48.
