Versatile Platt leads Lady Vike spikers to opener win

Kalee Platt did a little of everything to help lift the Huntington North High School varsity volleyball team to a 3-0 win over visiting Bluffton in the Lady Vikings’ season-opener on Tuesday, Aug. 15.

Platt smashed 14 kills, had eight digs and fired three aces as the Lady Vikings used matching scores of 25-20 to down the visitors.

Kaitlyn Stephan had 23 assists on the evening for the Lady Vikings and Macy Niswander added two blocks. Maddy Robrock matched Platt with three aces.

The HNHS junior varsity also got off on the right foot, winning 25-11, 25-10 for a 2-0 victory.

Maddi Laymon was the hammer with six kills, and Morgan Robrock was the facilitator with 13 assists. Coryn Barton had five aces, Taylor Reust had two blocks and Macy Campbell had two digs.
