It took a few minutes for the 16th-ranked Huntington University women's basketball team to get untracked on Tuesday night, but then the Forester women put a hurt on visiting Spring Arbor in the opening round of the Mid-Central College Conference Women's Basketball Tournament, winning 65-52.

The visitors were up 10-6 at the 13:10 mark of the first half before the Forester women settled down and put some points on the board - 16 in a row - while Spring Arbor went scoreless for nearly 11 minutes. They went into halftime with a 28-16 lead.

Courtney Beerbower led HU, 22-6, with 19 points. Sarah Miller scored 16 points, Jenna Donaldson had 12 and Lauren Davenport added nine.

The HU women will host Indiana Wesleyan, a 73-64 winner over Marian College, on Friday night, Feb. 27, at 7 p.m.
