HU netwomen trounce MVNU, 9-0

The Huntington University women’s tennis team trounced visiting Mount Vernon Nazarene University, 9-0, on Saturday, Sept. 9.

Half of the Foresters’ six victories in singles play were of the whitewash variety. Posting 6-0, 6-0 triumphs were Meg Dolde in the second match, versus Sarah Higgins; Charlotte Seth in the fourth tilt, against Ashley Weber; and Anastasiia Evstifeeva in the fifth contest, over Shelbi Keller.

In the first solo match, Constanze Golz routed Gaby Reyes, 6-0, 6-1. Lisa Colling, at the No. 6 spot, dispatched Aly Landis, 6-1, 6-2, while Lanae Singleton, at third singles, defeated Jayna Morehouse, 6-4, 6-1.

In doubles action, the No. 3 duo of Evstifeeva and Seth blanked Keller and Hannah Bishop, 8-0. The first contest saw Golz and Dolde beat Reyes and Weber, 8-1, while the second tilt saw Singleton and Colling dispatch Morehouse and Higgins by the same score.

With the win, Huntington improves to 5-1, 3-1 in Crossroads League play.
