Forester harriers mid-pack at Twilight Invitational

The Huntington University men’s cross country team finished fifth out of nine teams at the Twilight Invitational on Friday, Sept. 8, at Indiana Wesleyan University.

The Foresters’ top four finished within five seconds of each other. Making his collegiate debut, freshman Adrien Gentie topped the team by clocking in at 27:11.6 for 20th place out of 113 runners. Kevin Moser posted a time of 27:13.3 for 22nd place with Nick Childs on his heels to claim 24th place in 27:13.8. Elijah Chesterman had a solid outing in his first race as a Forester, finishing 25th in 27:15.1. Kody Ahrens rounded out the scoring for Coach Fred Miller’s crew by turning in a 27:57.1 for 34th place.

Other runners for Huntington included Elston Jones, 44th, 28:55.7; CJ Robertson, 47th, 29:12.1; Codi Wiersema, 79th, 29:39.1; Zach McIntyre, 86th, 30:04.7; Cody Feissel, 89th, 30:17.3; Justin Ayres, 94th, 30:51.4; and Joseph Landon, 111th, 36:22.0.

Taylor University won the invitational with 26 points, followed by IWU, 52; Goshen, 103; Grace, 124; Huntington, 125; Ohio Christian, 130; Spring Arbor, 209; Saint Francis, 227; and IU Kokomo, 256.
