HU golfers fifth at own invitational

The Huntington University men’s golf team placed fifth at its own invitational, held Friday, Sept. 8, and Saturday, Sept. 9 at Rock Hollow Golf Course, in Peru.

At the Foresters’ No. 1 spot, Cale Carr posted a 156 to finish eighth overall out of 47 golfers. Andrew Weisheit tied for 14th by carding a 158. Zakry Cummings shot a 163, good for a share of 26th place, while Luis Esteban and Chandler Rang recorded a 168 and 181, respectively, to round out the team.

Indiana Wesleyan University edged out Mount Vernon Nazarene University by one stroke to claim the title by firing a 620. Saint Francis finished third with a 633, followed by IU South Bend, 635; Huntington, 639; IU Kokomo, 641; Spring Arbor, 643; and St. Mary of the Woods, 661.
