Foresters fall to Grace College in volleyball action

The Huntington University volleyball team got swept by host Grace College on Friday, Sept. 15.

The Foresters lost 17-25, 21-25, 20-25 to fall even on the year at 8-8, with a 3-3 mark in Crossroads League play.

Josie Beaver paced the Huntington offense with eight kills. Haley Longley and Danielle Gurwell both chipped in seven kills. Emily Hubby and Breanna Levings supported their efforts with 17 and 13 assists, respectively.

On the defensive side, Kate Cobb registered 17 digs for the Foresters while Ariene Butler logged 13. Beaver and Gurwell each had a hand in three blocks.

Grace, 9-5, 4-2 in league action, got 10 kills from Kari Feddema and 14 digs from Sara Miller. Alexa Hill, a former Huntington North High School standout, dished out 29 assists.
