Koch hat trick leads Lady Vike booters

Karmen Koch scored a hat trick in the second half to lead the Huntington North High School girls’ varsity soccer team to a 4-0 win over visiting Homestead on Thursday, Sept. 21.

After spending the first half on defense, Koch switched over to offense for the second half and scored her first goal early in the frame to double the HNHS halftime lead. She later scored twice more to ensure the Lady Vikings improved to 13-1 on the season.

Amaya Sunderman scored the Lady Vikes’ first-half goal.

Hannah Tillett made the HNHS offense hum with three assists, and Sydney Kyle also handed out an assist.

Kodi Douglas made 10 saves in net to notch the shutout.

Koch’s three goals upped her total to 28 on the season. Tillett’s three assists give her 37 for the campaign. Sunderman has eight goals on the season.
