Smith, Konz net five as Vikings romp on pitch

Seniors Caleb Smith and Kasey Konz combined for five goals as the Huntington North High school boys’ varsity soccer team drilled visiting Norwell, 8-0, on Monday, Sept. 25.

Fellow seniors Carson Bolinger, Andrew Kaylor and Jacob Foster also scored for the Vikings, who improved to 11-3-1 on the year.

Sam Poling had one save in 65 minutes in goal for the Vikings, with Aidan Hosler getting 15 minutes of pipe time.

Smith notched three goals to run his team-high total to 16 on the season, and Konz scored his eighth and ninth of the year.

The Vikings tallied a pair of goals in the first half and piled up six more in the second half.

The Vikings were a sharing bunch on the pitch, recording five assists. Smith, Konz and Foster all had assists to go with their goals, and Alec Bolding and Tyler Christle also had assists.
