Colling leads HU netwomen over St. Mary's

Led by fifth singles player Lisa Colling, the Huntington University women’s tennis team pummeled host St. Mary’s College, 8-1, on Thursday, Sept. 28.

Colling, a freshman, fired blanks at Lilly Chamberlin in their match at fifth singles, winning 6-0, 6-0, for the biggest margin of the day.

At first singles, Constance Golz defeated Christian Lombardi, 6-1, 6-2; Meg Dolde at second singles took down Monica Davy, 6-3, 6-2; Lanae Singleton at third singles beat Megan Davy, 6-1, 6-2; and Charlotte Seth at fourth singles crunched Kelsey Kopf, 6-3, 6-0.

HU swept the doubles matches. Golz and Dolde at first topped Monica Davy and Megan Davy, 8-3; Singleton and Colling won 8-4 over Lombardi and Chamberlin at second and Anastasiia Evstifeeva and Seth won at third singles over Maddi Minaudo and Elizabeth Preister, 8-5.

Evstifeeva at sixth singles got the lone HU loss, falling 3-6, 2-6, to Minaudo.
