HU netwomen dominate Goshen

The Huntington University women’s tennis team closed out the regular season with a dominating 9-0 win over host Goshen College on Saturday, Sept. 30.

The Foresters didn’t lose a single game on the day as they ran their record to 12-2, 7-2 in Crossroads League play. The sweep is their eighth of the season.

Senior Constanze Golz dispatched Chloe Woodward in the first match, 6-0, 6-0. Sophomore Meg Dolde took the second tilt, beating Megan Ewing. Freshman Lanae Singleton defeated Elsie Koop Liechty in the third contest. Freshman Charlotte Seth was victorious over Mezrae Watt in the No. 4 match while freshman Lisa Colling triumphed over Kyra Krall in the fifth to round out Huntington’s solo wins, which included a default victory in the sixth match.

Doubles play saw the Foresters’ top duo of Golz and Dolde defeat Ewing and Woodward, 8-0, and their second pairing of Colling and Singleton beat Koop Liechty and Watt by the same score. The visitors picked up a default win in the third tilt.
