Lady Vike spikers fall in sectional to state's top team

The Huntington North High School varsity volleyball team found out why Yorktown is the top-ranked team in the state of Indiana as the Lady Vikings were swept out of the Yorktown Volleyball Sectional, 0-3, on Thursday, Oct. 12.

The Lady Vikings, despite heading into the sectional at 23-8, were no match for Yorktown, which came in at 31-2. HNHS lost the first game, 20-25, then went down 13-25 in both of the final two games.

Senior Kaitlyn Stephan dished out 29 assists in her final HNHS appearance, and junior Macy Niswander put down 14 kills to spearhead the Lady Vike offense.

Rileigh Johnson was the defensive leader with 15 digs.
