Matheus Louzada scored a goal and assisted on another to lead the Huntington University men’s soccer team to a 2-0 win over visiting Mount Vernon Nazarene University on Saturday, Oct. 14.

Louzada knocked in a penalty kick just 49 seconds into the game following an MVNU hand ball to give HU a 1-0 lead, and less than 20 minutes later the junior fed Bradey Gerke for an insurance goal.

Louzada’s goal was his sixth of the season.

The Cougars had seven shots, but only one on goal, and Forester goalie Troy Hester made the necessary stop to record his second clean slate of the campaign.

The Foresters improved to 6-3-4 on the campaign while MVNU dropped to 7-7.
