Forester booters let early lead slip away

The Huntington University men’s soccer team let an early lead slip away and wound up a 3-1 loser to host Bethel College on Saturday, Oct. 21.

HU freshman Jake Erlandson gave the Foresters, 7-4-4, the early lead when he blasted a free kick into the Bethel net following a Bethel foul at the 21:40 mark, but the Pilots came back for two scores before the half to take a 2-1 lead. The Pilots grabbed an insurance goal at the 79:11 mark to bring the game to its scoring conclusion.

HU goalie Troy Hester recorded one save on the day. His counterpart for Bethel, Philip Keller, made five saves on the afternoon to get the win.

Bethel is 10-4-2 overall.
