Forester booters dispatch Taylor

The Huntington University men’s soccer team dispatched visiting Taylor University, 2-0, on Saturday, Oct. 28.

Freshman Valentin de Coninck got the scoring started for the Foresters with a goal at the 23:06 mark in the first half. Freshman Noah Stanford then cushioned the hosts’ lead with a second-half tally in the 89th minute.

Huntington, 9-4-4, 4-2-2 in the Crossroads League, racked up 15 shots for the game, five of which were on goal.

Forester keeper Troy Hester went the distance in goal, making six stops to notch his fourth shutout of the season.

Taylor, 6-7-3, 2-5-1, finished with 14 shots overall.

The Trojans’ goalie, Drew Sezonov, recorded three saves while allowing the two Huntington goals in the losing effort.
