Matea Knispel and Brandi Spear, members of the Huntington University women’s soccer team, were named first-team all-conference by the Crossroads League.

Knispel, a junior, led the Forester offense. The midfielder scored 18 goals, seven of which were game-winners. She was previously honored by the league as a freshmen all-conference designee in 2014.

Spear was Huntington’s other offensive standout. The senior forward tallied 11 goals, one of which was a game-clincher. She also logged four assists.

Goalkeeper Paige Coolman rounded out the Foresters’ honorees with an honorable mention nod. Her second such nod in as many seasons, Coolman piled up 111 saves in goal. The senior’s efforts led to nine wins, five of which were shutouts.

Huntington finished the season 10-8-2, with a 5-3-1 mark in league play.
