HU hoopsters trounce Wright State-Lake Campus

The Huntington University men’s basketball team trounced host Wright State University Lake Campus, 92-68, on Tuesday, Nov. 14.

The Foresters, 3-3, shot 56.9 percent for the game, sinking 33 of 58 field goal attempts. They added 17 points in 24 attempts at the free-throw line for 70.8 percent.

Tyler Arens highlighted Huntington’s offensive attack with 25 points on 9 of 13 marksmanship from the field. The junior also pulled down 12 rebounds to record his fourth double-double of the season. His efforts on the glass helped give the Foresters a 40-35 edge in that department.

Coach Ty Platt’s squad took a 47-34 lead into the half and expanded its advantage into the 20-point range by the end buzzer.

Sophomore Konner Platt tallied 18 points for Huntington. Junior Mason Coverstone tossed in 17 points while seniors Mike Bush and Trevor Lockwood both added 10. Bush also dished out a team-high eight assists.

Wright State Lake hit 32 of 81 shots from the field for 39.5 percent, which included an anemic 4 of 28 effort from three-point land for 14.3 percent. The Lakers missed their only two free throw attempts.
