Schoeff, Kyler lead HU women's track team to Anderson win

Josann Schoeff and Michelle Kyler tore up the competition as each took two individual first-place finishes to lead the Huntington University women's track team to the championship of the Anderson Invitational on Thursday, April 1.

Huntington totaled 135 points, followed by Earlham with 126, Saint Francis with 93, Goshen with 62, Anderson with 61 and Spring Arbor with 52.

Schoeff took both sprints, the 100-meters dash in :13.45 and the 200-meter dash in :27.33. She also was part of HU's 400-meter relay team, which won that event in :50.74.

Kyler had a gold finish in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:09.16 and the pole vault with a height of 10-6. She was also part of the 1,600-meter relay team, which took first in 4:20.59.

In addition to Schoeff, Mariah Town, Rachel Bayon and Bethany McGraw were on HU's 400-meter relay team. Town, McGraw and Abbey Wise also ran the 1,600-meter relay with Kyler.

Molly Shirey added to HU's victory by winning the 5,000-meter run in 20:44.27.

Second-place finishes for the Foresters included Town in the 400 meters, Kelsey Green in discus, Haleigh Osborne in shot put and Doris Walker in javelin.

Krystal McHenry in the 1500 meters and Bayon in the 100 meters both took third places.
