Fiedler leads HU trackmen to Anderson Invite crown

Huntington native Todd Fiedler won two events to lead the Huntington University men's track team to a top-place finish out of five teams with a score of 135 at the Anderson Invitational on Thursday, April 1.

Fiedler won the javelin with a throw of 162-9 and took the triple jump with a leap of 42-2.75. He also placed second in the long jump and third in the 100 meters.

Five other HU athletes took the gold in their respective events. Alec Rosario won the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 10:29.37, Joseph Herber took the 1,500 meter run in 4:11.44 and Ethan Medley took first in the 800-meter run in 1:58.50. Sean LaFontaine placed first in the 400-meter hurdles in 56.89 and Ryan Morris had a height of 12-11.75 to win the pole vault.

Kam Bailey took second in the 200-meter dash, and LaFontaine also took third in the long jump.

Earlham took second overall with 129.33 points, followed by Goshen with 114.66 points, Anderson with 113 points and Saint Francis with 53 points.
