East Noble swims past Lady Vikes

Five second place finishes were the best the Huntington North High School girls’ swim team could do against host East Noble on Tuesday, Nov. 28, in a 123-53 loss.

Allie Aschliman took a pair of seconds, Laney Shaw got one and the 200-yard medley and 400-yard freestyle relay teams also got runner-up spots as HNHS dropped to 3-3 on the season.

Aschliman was runner-up in the 200-yard individual medley, in 2:34.99, and the 100-yard butterfly, in 1:07.25, and Shaw was No. 2 in the 100-yard freestyle, in 1:02.73.

The 200-yard medley relay team was comprised of Alyssa Brinkman, Macy Lange, Aschliman and Shaw and touched home at 2:10.83. The 400 free relay team included Shaw, Aschliman, Alayna Stroup and Lange, and finished in 4:25.18.

Shaw added a third place in the 50-yard freestyle, in :28.22. Morgan Cogar took bronze in the 200-yard freestyle, in 2:34.06, and the 500-yard freestyle, in 6:51.04. Brinkman took third in the 100-yard backstroke, in 1:15.26, and Lange was third in the 100-yard breaststroke, in 1:23.02.
