Viking swimmers fall to South Adams

The Huntington North High School boys’ swim team lost to host South Adams, 110-57, on Thursday, Dec. 7.

The Vikings only had one win on the evening, capturing the final event, the 400-yard relay. The team of Keegan Mautz, Aidan Miller, Conner Mason and Nathan York touched the wall in 4:14.36 for the win.

Mautz and Mason each picked up a pair of seconds to lead the Vikings. Mautz, a junior, was runner-up in the 200-yard individual medley, in 2:35.13, and the 100-yard freestyle, in 1:01.22, while Mason,  a senior, was silver finisher in the 200-yard freestyle, in 2:17.30, and the 500-yard freestyle, in 6:26.01.

Nathan York in the 100-yard backstroke and Cole Davidson in the 100-yard breaststroke also picked up runner-up finishes. York went 1:11.39 for his second and Davidson went 1:29.09 for his spot.

York added third place points in the 50-yard freestyle, in :26.71, and Davidson did so in the 200 IM, in 2:50.35. Miller was third in the 200 free, in 2:35.58, and the 100-yard butterfly, in 1:21.28. Mason Anderson placed third in the 100 free, in 1:11.63.
