HNHS swimboys lose to Bellmont

The Huntington North High School boys’ swim team suffered a 110-49 defeat to visiting Bellmont on Tuesday, Dec. 12.

Keegan Mautz and Nathan York paced the Vikings, each posting first and second-place finishes. Mautz, a junior, won the 50-yard freestyle in :26.75 before taking second in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:07.24. York, a sophomore, topped the 100-yard freestyle in 1:00.40 and was runner-up in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:12.31.

Conner Mason put forth a pair of silver efforts for Coach Mycal Rodenback’s squad. The senior was runner-up in the 200-yard individual medley, in 2:45.65, as well as the 500-yard freestyle, in 6:19.43.

Cole Davidson claimed second in the 100-yard breaststroke, clocking in at 1:31.13. The freshman also took third in the 200-yard freestyle, coming home in 2:36.18.
