Anderson, Mautz are winners but Oak Hill trounces HNHS swimboys

Mason Anderson and Keegan Mautz came up with the only victories on the night for the Huntington North High School boys’ swim team as it got beaten soundly by host Oak Hill, 131-51, on Monday, Jan. 8.

Anderson, a junior, took the 50-yard freestyle in :28.73 and Mautz, also a junior, captured the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:16.73 for the HNHS highlights of the meet.

Nathan York placed second in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:00.27, and the sophomore teamed with Cole Davidson, Mautz and Aidan Miller for a runner-up finish in the 200-yard medley relay, the team coming home in 2:06.54.

York also added third place points in the 100-yard backstroke, in 1:12.91.

Miller added a pair of thirds for HNHS, in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:16.12, and the 100 breast with a time of 1:28.87.

Conner Mason also had a pair of third place finishes, doing the bronze thing in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:19.44 and the 500-yard freestyle in 6:25.34.
