Sophomore Sarah Fryman tossed in a game-high 20 points to lead the Huntington University women’s basketball team to a 59-38 win over visiting Goshen College on Wednesday, Jan. 17.

The Foresters took a 13-7 lead on the Maple Leafs in the first quarter, which they grew to 34-21 by halftime and 48-31 after three frames.

Huntington, 12-8 overall, 5-4 in Crossroads League play, got a pair of eight-point efforts from junior Maddie Richer and senior Hailey Krewald. Richer also helped facilitate the offense with four assists.

The Foresters went 22 of 59 from the field for 37.3 percent and a perfect 8 of 8 at the foul line.

Huntington enjoyed a 52-30 advantage in rebounding, thanks in large part to junior Brooke Saylor, who grabbed a game-best 14 boards.

Goshen, 1-20, 0-9 in conference, was paced by Sydney Stein, who tallied 13 points.

The Maple Leafs converted 17 of 60 field goal attempts for 28.3 percent, which included an anemic 3 of 19 showing from beyond the arc. They took just three shots at the charity stripe, making one for 33.3 percent.
