Norwell dispatches HNHS swimmers

The Huntington North High School boys’ swim team got dispatched by host Norwell, 122-54, on Tuesday, Jan. 16.

The Vikings were paced by Conner Mason, who won the 100-yard backstroke. The senior achieved his gold showing with a time of 1:17.76.

Keegan Mautz and Nathan York each recorded a pair of second-place finishes for Huntington North.

Mautz earned runner-up honors in the 200 and 100-yard freestyles. The junior swam the longer race in 2:13.83 and the shorter one in :57.89.

York put forth his silver efforts in the 50 and 500-yard freestyles. The sophomore finished the 50 in :27.04 and the 500 in 6:25.14.

Cole Davidson placed second in the 100-yard butterfly, stopping the timer in 1:19.25.

The Vikings’ 200-yard freestyle relay quartet produced a runner-up showing. The foursome, comprised of Davidson, York, Mautz and junior Aidan Miller, came home in 1:52.26.
