Lady Vike cagers lose to Concordia

The Huntington North High School girls’ varsity basketball team fell quietly to host Concordia Lutheran, 38-24, on Saturday, Jan. 20.

The Lady Vikings, 11-9 overall and 4-2 in the NE8, had only 14 shots for the contest but had 19 turnovers. They were down after the first quarter, 7-5, before a disastrous 16-3 second quarter had them on the back end of a 23-8 halftime score.

Rileigh Johnson scored eight points and Karmen Koch and Larissa Johnson each had seven.

Hollyn Anderson had three assists.

Carissa Garcia had 20 points to lead Concordia, 13-7. Chanteese Craig added nine points.

The Lady Vikes hit 6 of their 14 shots from the field for 42.8 percent. They added 11 successes in 16 fouls shots for 62.5 percent.
