Depth leads Lady Vike gymnasts past Logansport

The Huntington North High School gymnastics team won only one event but piled up more than enough points in all disciplines to top visiting Logansport, 104.100-99.750, on Monday, Jan. 22.

Senior Brianna Bates got the Lady Vikings’ lone win of the night by scoring a 9.475 on floor exercise, but the Lady Vikes topped the visitors in every discipline to get the win.

HNHS took second and third places on the vault, uneven parallel bars and balance beam.

Laora Pampaloni took second on vault with a score of 9.050, and Bates was third with an 8.925 as the Lady Vikes shaded Loganport in this discipline, 26.675-26.575.

Danielle Korporal was runner-up on bars with an 8.250 and Bates was third with an 8.100 as HNHS won this challenge, 24.200-23.125.

Sarah Malone was runner-up on beam with an 8.650, and Bates was again third with an 8.525 as the Lady Vikes took this discipline, 25.675-25.100.

Aleah Eckert added third on the floor with a 9.200 as the Lady Vikes had their biggest advantage of the night at 27.550-24.950.

Bates took second in all-round with a 35.025 and Eckert took third with a 32.700.

Third scorer for HNHS on the vault was Bailey Harris, who hd a a fourth place score of  8.700. Pampaloni had a fifth place score of 7.850 to complete the scoring on bars, Korporal had an 8.500 for fourth to complete the beam scoring and Korporal got fourth on the floor with an 8.875 to complete the floor scoring.
