Huntington North High School senior Logan Randle placed seventh of 35 in the 112-pound weight class in the National High School Coaches Association Senior Wrestling Tournament on March 26 in Virginia Beach, VA.

The bracket-style tournament was open to wrestlers from across the United States. Wrestlers competed individually, but also earned points for his respective state. Indiana finished 12th of 47 states represented.

Randle's first match pit him against Victor Ekpenyong of Connecticut. Ekpenyong was a two-time state champion, but Randle kept up to win the match 8-6.

Randle moved on to face Matthew Correa of California. The match was even-matched, as three overtimes were needed for Randle to break Correa to move on.

David White, a Pennsylvania native, would be the breaking point for Randle, as White managed to pin the HNHS senior at the 3:13 mark. The match was the first time Randle had been pinned in three years.

Randle moved into the consolation bracket, where he beat Drew Mills of Utah 9-1, but lost to Louisiana's Ben Willeford 3-0.

To determine seventh place, Randle faced Sam Shames of Massachusetts, who Randle edged 1-0.

Due to Randle's top eight finish, he was named an All-American at the tournament. Josh Heinzer of Washington won the 112-class bracket.
