HU hurlers handcuff USF in 7-0 win

Four pitchers combined on a four-hit shutout to lead the Huntington University baseball team to a 7-0 win over host University of Saint Francis on Monday, April 2.

Jamar Weaver knocked in three runs as HU improved to 8-12 overall with its sixth straight win.

Mason Shinabery went the first four frames and gave up only one hit, with six strikeouts and no walks. DJ Moore got credit for the win by pitching the next three frames, allowing two hits with three strikeouts and one walk. Alex McCutcheon then threw a scoreless frame, giving up one hit and notching two strikeouts, and Tarrin Beachy had a hitless ninth inning.

The Foresters got the only runs they needed in a three-run first inning. They added a solo run in the second inning and put up three insurance tallies in the ninth inning.

HU wound up with 10 hits. Daniel Lichty and Adrian Perez each had a pair.
