HU women golfers get first win in program history

The Huntington University women’s golf team achieved its first win in program history, topping Taylor University’s Ackerman-Allen Shoot Out on Tuesday, April 17.

The Foresters posted a score of 336 to catapult themselves, a three-year-old program, to the momentous triumph.

Huntington was led by Leah Thompson, who carded a 77 to earn medalist honors. She is only the second golfer in program history to accomplish that feat.

Abby Poole turned in an 83 for the Foresters. Alexandria Maris posted an 86 while Betsy Schroeder and Megan Higgins finished with a 90 and 92, respectively.

After Huntington, Indiana Wesleyan University was runner-up with a 341; followed by Taylor University, 346; and Holy Cross College, 362.
