Marian hangs two losses on Forester women

The Huntington University softball team got swept by visiting Marian on Saturday, April 28, losing 4-1 and 5-0.

The Foresters dropped to 21-23 on the season overall, 16-18 in the Crossroads League.

Audra Klopfenstein had two of the Foresters five hits in the opener.

Lairen Miller took the loss in the circle, going the full seven innings and yielding 11 hits and four earned runs, with one walk.

Both teams scored a run in the first inning. Marian touched Miller for two more in the fifth and a final run in the sixth.

The Foresters got six hits in the second game, with Paige Eichelberger managing two of those.

Meghan Fretz went all seven innings and was reached for three earned runs on five hits, with three strikeouts and two walks.

Marian scored a run in the first inning and Fretz held the visitors there until they scored four runs in the seventh.
