Lady Vike netgirls run past East Noble

The Huntington North High School girls’ varsity tennis team ran past visiting East Noble, 4-1, on Friday, May 4.

Running their record to 11-1 on the season, the Lady Vikings lost no more than three games in any of their wins.

Jessica Henline at first singles defeated Hannah Denton, 6-1, 6-1, and Kassidy Thompson at second singles beat Rachel Ort, 6-1, 6-2.

The Lady Vikings’ first doubles unit of Macy Wohlford and Jule Nogaj topped Jordan Stayer and Erin Bloom, 6-0, 6-1, and the No. 2 team of Braxtyn Maroney and Leann Ringenberg downed Kayla Desper and Karly Kirkpatrick, 6-0, 6-1.

Tarah Zumbrun at third singles got the only HNHS loss, falling to Sam Lay, 4-6, 2-6.

Huntington North won the junior varsity match, 10-2.

Singles winners for HNHS were Emily Bokel, Emily Daas, Emma Bickel, Chloe Hart and Katie Paolillo.

Doubles wins came from the teams of Paolillo and Crosley Stanley, Sydney Smekens and Maisy Kesler, Mary Young and Lindsey Hunt, Gabby Haneline and Julia Crist and Sami Seal and Kadija El-Hussein.
