Viking golfers save best for last

The Huntington North High School boys’ varsity golf team saved its best for last, winning its final Northeast 8 Conference match of the season, 159-199, over host New Haven.

The Vikings shot their best nine-hole score of the year in the win, which upped their record to 1-6 in conference, 2-8 overall.

Senior Daniel Shivley led Huntington North with a personal-best score of 36. Senior Jack Young and freshman Caden Brubaker both carded a 40 while sophomore Graham Scher capped the team’s score with a 43.

Freshman Luke Eckert fired a non-scoring 47.
