Lady Vike golfers runner-up at New Haven Invite

The Huntington North high School girls’ varsity golf team placed second among 16 teams at the New Haven Golf Invitational on Saturday, Aug. 18, at Whispering Creek Golf Club.

The Lady Vikes fired a 357 to place runner-up to state-ranked Homestead, which won the invite with a total of 321. Angola was third with a 366.

Senior Amara Eckert again led the Lady Vikings with a round of 82, placing fifth individually. Laura Ham fired an 87 for 11th place, Danielle Gonser shot a 92 to place 14th and Grace Dill carded a 96 to complete the HNHS scoring.

Macy McCloskey shot a 104 as non-scorer.

Playing as individuals, Crosley Stanley shot a 104 and Kassidy Krumanaker had a 114.

The result was the third runner-up finish for HNHS in four invitationals this season.
