Dydasco leads Crestview boys to close win over Woodside

Charleston Dydasco won one individual event and was part of the winning 1,600-meter relay team to help the Crestview Middle School boys' varsity track team edge Woodside 55-54 on Monday, April 26.

Dydasco won the high jump with a height of 5 feet, 3 inches. He also teamed with Caleb Haupert, Parker Brundige and Skyler Veilleux to win the 1600-meter relay in 4:08.03.

The Cougars also had four other first place finishes. Mark Hoover took the 200-meter dash in :26.46; Colt Ropp had the shot put with a throw of 38 feet, 9 inches; Austin Hale won the discus with an arm of 101 feet, 1.5 inches; and Tyler Veilleux took the gold in the long jump with a leap of 16 feet, 2 inches.
The Cougar junior varsity squad also defeated Woodside, 61.5-47.5.

Ricky Wedlake led the Crestview charge by winning the 100-meter dash in :12.65 and the shot put with a distance of 33 feet, 10 inches.

Wedlake combined with Adam Woods, Houston Lehman and Brundige to win the 400-meter relay in :52.21.
Lehman won the 100-meter hurdles in :18.06; Hal Smith took the 200-meter hurdles in :33.46; Luke Scheiber finished first in the discus with a toss of 67 feet, 9 inches; and Mark Hoover won the largest long jump at 14-2.
