A second-half goal by Amaya Sunderman pushed the game into overtime, but visiting Leo defeated the Huntington North High School girls’ varsity soccer team in a shootout, 2-1, on Monday, Sept. 17.
Sunderman’s 17th goal of the season matched a first-half score by Leo’s Alex Bond. Neither team then scored in the overtime, creating the shootout situation, which Leo took 3-0.
Lady Vike goalie Kodi Douglass made three saves on the afternoon as HNHS fell to 9-3 on the season.
