MVNU blanks HU soccermen

The Huntington University men’s soccer team got blanked by host Mount Vernon Nazarene University, losing 3-0 on Wednesday, Oct. 17.

After a scoreless opening half, the Cougars tallied their trio of goals in the second.

The Foresters, 8-5-3, 3-2-2 in the Crossroads League, logged 12 shots, seven of which were on goal. Miguel de Sousa and Jake Erlandson each registered two scoring looks.

Gabe Greenfield went the distance in goal for Huntington, surrendering the three Mount Vernon scores to take the loss. He also recorded three saves.

With the win, Mount Vernon improves to 7-6-3, 2-3-2 in league play.
