Forester pitching too much for Trine softball team

In a day that focused on pitching skills, the Huntington University softball team beat host Trine University 1-0 and 6-2 on Thursday, April 29.

The first match saw no scoring until the sixth inning, when Aubrey Garner hit an RBI-double to score the winning run.

Molly Long had the win for Huntington, allowing only one hit and one walk while throwing 10 strikeouts.

The night game was a different story on the scoreboard as the Foresters notched four runs in the opening inning. HU added runs in the third and sixth inning to take a 6-0 lead, but Trine scored in the seventh to end hopes of a Forester shutout.

Stacie Rawnsley had the win for Huntington, giving up one run on seven hits and one walk in four innings of work.
Brita Kuiper was 3 for 4 at the plate to lead HU.
