Huntington University senior Aspen Dirr qualified for a fifth individual race at the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships by setting a new school record in the 1,000-meter run on Saturday, Feb. 16, at the 2019 Flag City Open host by the University of Findlay.
Dirr hit the mark for nationals by winning the 1,000 in 2:58.46.
She also won the 600-meterr run, clocking in at 1:39.84.
In addition to the 1,000, Dirr has also qualified for nationals in the 800-meter run, the mile, the 3,00-meter run and the 5,000-meter run.
She has also qualified as a member of the HU distance medley relay team.
Molly Mitchell added third place points for HU at the meet in the 600-meter run, clocking in at 1:40 .83.
