The Huntington University men’s track team placed sixth at the Centre College Invitational on Saturday, March 30.
Avniel Barrow was the Foresters’ main point-getter, claiming second in the 100-meter dash in :11.48 and seventh in the 200-meter dash in :23.85. He, along with Andrew Zachary, Heath Atkins and Peyton Depriest, earned their team’s only gold by winning the 400-meter relay in :43.29.
Zachary took third in the 400-meter run by clocking in at :51.46. He was also a part of the 1,600-meter relay team that finished third in 3:37.87. Other members of the relay squad included Depriest, Josiah Sovine and Elijah Chesterman.
Luke Fillers earned runner-up honors in pole vault with a mark of 3.81 meters.
Other point-getters for Huntington included Kody Ahrens in the 5,000-meter run, seventh, 17:46.09; Cameron Worsham in the 110-meter hurdles, sixth, :17.15; Heath Atkins in triple jump, seventh, 12.11; Zach Williams in shot put, sixth, 12.86, and discus, fifth, 39.27; and Adam Woods in javelin, fifth, 40.59.
Centre ran away with the title with 202 points, followed by Georgetown, 100; Lindsey Wilson, 98; Campbellsville, 89; Union, 62; Huntington, 58; Berea, 56; Spring Arbor, 45; Alice Lloyd, 24; and Brescia, 1.
