Big inning pushes Lady Vikes past Woodlan

The Huntington North High School varsity softball team used a nine-run sixth inning to defeat host Woodlan, 13-11, on Thursday, April 11.

The game was tied at 4-4 when the Lady Vikings exploded for their biggest inning of the season. They then had to hang on as Woodlan scored four runs in its half of the sixth and three more in the seventh.

HNHS is now 4-2 on the season.

Kodi Douglass banged out three hits and Laney Shaw smacked a triple and knocked in three runs. Macy Lange also had three ribbies.

The Lady Vikes got eight hits in the contest.

Sydney Selvage pitched the final five innings and got the win, despite yielding 11 runs, but only four earned, on seven hits, with four strikeouts and eight walks.
