Marion hands Lady Vike netgirls first loss of sesason

The Huntington North High School girls’ varsity tennis team got handed its first loss of the season on Monday, April 15, as it was swept by visiting Marion, 0-5.

Emily Bokel at second singles managed to win five games against Claire Hendricks in a 2-6, 3-6 loss that was the closest the Lady Vikes could come to a win.

HNHS is now 4-1.

Jessica Henline at fist singles lost to Kayla Dubuque, 1-6, 2-6, and Emily Daas at third singles fell to Jayden Sebastian, 1-6, 0-6.

In doubles, the first team of Macy Wohlford and Maisy Kesler lost to Courtney Kreischer and Sofia Porter, 3-6, 1-6, and the second doubles team of Crosley Stanley and Sydney Smekens was beaten by Sophie Schenk and Anna Wurtley, 0-6, 2-6.

The Huntington North junior varsity ran its record to 5-0 with a 4-0 win.

Stephanie Atkinson and Mary Young were singles winners for HNHS. Doubles winners were Emma Bickel and Lindsey Hunt and the duo of Chloe Hart and Naomi Richison.
