Salamonie Lake to host OH for disc golf course

Salamonie Lake will host an open house on Saturday, Aug. 24, celebrating the park’s newest feature: a nine-hole, par-three disc golf course.

The open house will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. People who register during those hours and play at least one hole will be entered for a prize, the winner of which will be drawn at 4 p.m.

The new disc golf course is located next to Pear Grove shelter in Lost Bridge West SRA. Registration is free.

The disc golf course is open now for people to play and will remain open year-round, from dawn to dusk.

There will also be a cornhole tournament from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., with registration beginning at 2:45 p.m., at the wildlife management pond. A small fee will apply. Games for kids will be offered from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the pond shelter area.

Sweet corn on the cob will also be available for purchase in two forms: in the husk, hot off the grill and ready to eat, or ready to cook at home. Kettle corn will also be available.

Property entrance fees apply per vehicle.
