HU netwomen trounce MVNU

The Huntington University women’s tennis team trounced Mount Vernon Nazarene University, 7-0, on Tuesday, Sept. 10, at Klopfenstein Courts.

Playing without No. 1 singles player Meg Dolde proved to not be a problem for the Foresters, who picked up their fourth win against three defeats.

In singles action, Charlotte Solli, playing in place of Dolde, triumphed over Hannah Fugate, 6-4, 6-2. Lanae Singleton recorded a 6-0, 6-4 victory in the second match, beating Casey Clark. The No. 3 contest saw Morgan Fitzpatrick dispatch Hailey Clayborn, 6-1, 6-2. In the fourth tilt, Lisa Colling blanked Alyson Landis, 6-0, 6-0. Molly Burton was a 6-4, 6-2 winner over Ashley Weber in the fifth match while Makenzie Logan logged a 6-3, 6-0 win versus Laurel Sidle in the No. 6 contest.

In doubles play, Solli and Singleton topped Fugate and Clark in the first match, 6-1. Fitzpatrick and Colling logged a 6-0 victory over Young and Landis in the No. 2 contest. Logan and Burton rounded out play with a 7-6 (7-5) triumph versus Weber and Clayborn.
