HU men, Grace play to 2-all draw

The Huntington University men’s soccer team and host Grace College played two overtime periods, but they couldn’t resolve their stalemate and settled for a 2-2 tie on Wednesday, Sept. 25.

The Foresters got off to a hot start, scoring twice in the opening half. Christian Kohen supplied Huntington’s first goal, off an assist from Eric Ocock, at the 34:55 mark. Just under five and a half minutes later, Coach Russ Lawson’s squad struck again, this time with a goal by Jake Erlandson, who got an assist from Caleb Sexton.

That, however, would prove to be the extent of Huntington’s offensive production on the night. The Lancers shut out the Foresters the rest of the way while tallying two goals of their own in the second stanza to lock the contest up and force overtime.

Huntington, 6-2-2, 0-0-1 in the Crossroads League, finished with 12 shots, four of which were on goal.

Gabe Greenfield went the distance in goal for the Foresters, yielding the two Grace scores while making five stops.
