HNHS spikers sweep East Noble

The Huntington North High School varsity volleyball team swept visiting East Noble, 3-0, on Thursday, Sept. 26.

Behind wins of 25-12, 25-16 and 25-20, the Lady Vikings upped their record to 9-12, with a 3-0 mark in the Northeast 8 Conference.

The Huntington North offense was led by senior Taylor Reust, who registered 14 kills. Senior Morgan Robrock helped facilitate the scoring with 31 assists. Junior Victoria Myers added two aces.

Myers and Reust also made their presence felt defensively. Myers racked up 18 digs while Reust logged five blocks.

The Lady Vikings also won the junior varsity match, 25-22, 25-10.

Huntington North was led by Emma Holzinger, who produced 10 kills. Kianna Jennings chipped in 17 assists to the team’s offensive effort, along with five aces.

Makenna Shearer paced the defense with 13 digs.

The Lady Vikings won the freshmen contest as well, 25-17, 25-15.

Huntington North got three kills from Mallory Kline, five assists from Hannah Szelis and as many aces from Madi Ptak.

Ptak also contributed defensively with 11 digs. Kline and Ainsley Kiefer both notched a block.
