The Huntington University women’s tennis team wrapped up the Crossroads League regular season in convincing fashion with a 5-2 win over host Taylor University on Thursday, Sept. 26.
The Foresters, 8-4 overall and 6-3 in the CL, got four wins in singles and swept doubles play.
At first singles, Meg Dolde defeated Katelyn Gray, 6-4, 6-2, and Charlotte Solli at second won 6-3, 6-2 over Julianna Hotmire. Third singles player Lanae Singleton beat Lauryn Riegsecker, 6-2, 7-6, and Morgan Fitzpatrick at fourth singles topped Kiersten Martin, 6-2, 6-3.
Dolde and Fitzpatrick at first doubles beat Gray and Hotmire, 6-3, and Solli and Singleton at second doubles downed Riegsecker and Martin, 6-2. Molly Burton and Lisa Colling at third doubles topped Molly Pile and Lydia Browning, 7-6.
Colling at fifth singles fell to Pile, 0-6, 2-6, and Burton at sixth singles lost to Browning, 4-6, 6-2, 6-10.
