HU netwomen wrap up fall with loss to Hillsdale

The Huntington University women’s tennis team wrapped up the fall portion of its schedule with a 1-6 road loss to Hillsdale College on Wednesday, Oct. 8.

HU’s only point of the afternoon came from the racket of No. 1 singles player Meg Dolde, who beat Hannah Cimpeanu, 6-2, 6-3.

Dolde also picked up a win in doubles with Morgan Fitzpatrick at the top spot, but Hillsdale won the doubles point by capturing the other two matches. Dolde and Fitzpatrick beat Katie Bell and Cimpeanu, 6-2.

Charlotte Solli at second singles lost to Sarah Hackman, 1-6, 0-6; Lanae Singleton at third singles lost to Bell, 3-6, 3-6; Fitzpatrick at fourth singles was downed by Kamryn Matthews, 0-6, 2-6; Lisa Colling lost at fifth singles to Sophia Spinazze, 2-6, 1-6; and Molly Burton at sixth was leveled by Canela Luna, 0-6, 0-6.

In the other two doubles matches, Solli and Singleton lost at second to Mathews and Hackman, 0-6, while Colling and Makenzie Logan lost to Spinazze and Ellie Chawner, 3-6.

The Foresters end the fall with a record of 9-7.
