HU spikers rebound for win over Bethel

The Huntington University volleyball team rebounded from a first-set loss to beat visiting Bethel University, 3-1, on Wednesday, Oct. 9.

After getting edged by the Pilots, 22-25, the Foresters reeled off wins of 25-17, 25-21 and 25-22. With the victory, Huntington improves to 12-10, 5-6 in the Crossroads League.

Paige Eakright made her presence felt on offense and defense for the Foresters. The senior produced a match-high 17 kills and served up two aces while notching 16 digs.

Brandy Michie and Lindsay Ingenito contributed 14 and 10 kills to the team’s offensive effort. Jennings Tacosik helped facilitate the scoring with 47 assists and supplied some offense of her own with two aces.

Ariene Butler led Huntington’s defense with 29 digs. Ingenito had a hand in four blocks, one of which was a solo stop.

With the defeat, Bethel falls to 7-17, 2-9 in league play.
