Lady Vike spikers end regular season with win

The Huntington North High School varsity volleyball team ended the regular season with a 3-1 victory over visiting Norwell on Thursday, Oct. 10.

The Lady Vikings took the first set, 25-15, before winding up on the short end of a 21-25 decision in the second. They bounced back in the third frame with a 25-19 victory, then ended the match with a 25-16 triumph in the fourth.

With the win, Huntington North improves to 13-16, 4-3 in the Northeast 8 Conference.

The Lady Vikings were led by senior Morgan Robrock, who dispensed 30 assists, served up three aces and recorded one block.

Taylor Reust paced the Huntington North offense with 18 kills. Preslee Williams chipped in three aces.

Alexa Spahr led the Lady Vikes’ defense, logging 11 digs. Maddie Levy registered a block.

Huntington North lost the junior varsity contest by narrow scores of 24-25 and 23-25.

The Lady Vikings got six kills from Emma Holzinger, nine assists from Kianna Jennings and two aces from Makenna Shearer.

Emma Wilson recorded 22 digs while Meg Camomile and Regan Slagel both notched a block.

The freshmen tilt went to Huntington North, 25-19, 25-12.

Delaney Wall swatted five kills, Hannah Szelis dished out nine assists and Audrie Bowman struck two aces for the Lady Vikings.

Madi Ptak led the team’s defensive effort with 10 digs.
